Ease of Installation:

Supper easy to install, well documented and doesn't require specialized tools.

Controller:

The F510L-WH fan kit includes a combination light and fan wall controller that is hard wired and fits within a single gang box. In order to control the fan and light separately the installation will require three a three wire cable from the wall controller to the the fan assembly in the ceiling.

Support:

Excellent!

I reached out through email with questions about the the fan kit and received a thoughtful response within 24 hours. I also called the toll free support line and was able to speak with a technician who was very capable and helpful over the phone. Overall I was very happy with the support responsiveness and answers.

Gothchas:

I did run into one problem during the installation that really had nothing to do with the product. The fan was installed as a replacement for a light at the top of a stairwell. The original light was on a three way switch circuit. This means there was a switch at the bottom of the stairs and one at the top and my customer wanted to continue to use the two switches to control the light on the fan. The wall controller packaged with the fan kit is a single pole switch and could not be used in a three way configuration so I needed to replace it with a double pole switch (just for the light). This is were I reached out to the Minka support line and was told that they don't have an equivalent double pole switch that would work in this application however they suggested installing a receiver unit in the fan that could be wireless controlled by the two separate wall controllers.

Parts are on order stay tuned for an update :)
